The Swan of Tuonela

Description

I haven't posted anything for quite a while and well it's because I've been recoperating from nine years in primary school....

The inspiration is "Kalevala" (the finnish mythology). This is the swan that swims on tuoni, the river of death. And on the other shore of tuoni lies the realm of Tuonela the kingdom of death ruled by Tuonetar queen of the dead. It's said that any one who tries to kill the swan will die in turn before he succeeds.

I think I've met Tuonetar and possibly Tuoni. Tuonetar was a supercilious "so-called" educator who callously denied most of her students a proper education: essentially pre-judging what they could and couldn't learn (her form of education was in no way enriching to anyone but herself). Tuoni was a lecturer in a concrete (ivory) tower (a higher educator) who looked like a rugby player crossed with a walrus (...he had a long moustache you could pull on...it was [gingery] yellow...). He got very territorial all of a sudden (he'd been sharing his equipment for three years...) and consequently upset a few people. He had absolutely no Quark, Strangeness or Charm. The Underworld is everywhere I guess...

On a lighter note, your composition is wonderful. The lone swan is romantic and so deadly. Check out the classical piece THE SWAN OF TUONELA by Jean Sibelius. You may be further inspired. Blessed Be!
